    Beach House, the dream-pop musical duo from Baltimore, will perform at the Malta Festival Poznań. On 28 June, the band will perform its only concert in Poland promoting Once Twice Melody, the latest album long-awaited by fans all over the world. Polish mucisians who will also perform at the Malta Festival this year include Maria Peszek, Bartek Wąsik, and Michał Pepol.

    On 28 June, a one-day music festival will be held as part of the 32nd Malta Festival Poznań. One of the highlights of the event will be a performance by the Baltimore-based dream pop band Beach House. The musical duo consists of vocalist and keyboardist Victoria Legrand and guitarist, keyboardist, and backup vocalist Alex Scally. The band is one of the most acclaimed American bands. All tracks are authored by the band members. Their concert at the festival will be part of an international tour promoting their latest double album Once Twice Melody.

    Apart from music guests from the American East Coast, the Malta stage will be filled with concerts by representatives of the Polish alternative and classical music scenes. The line-up includes a concert by Maria Peszek, the singer-songwriter well-known for her bold and uncompromising lyrics that often shock the Polish public opinion. The artist has returned to the spotlight after five years with the new album Ave Maria that the artist considers being ”the most beautiful album she had ever recorded”. The Malta audience will be able to hear to two exceptional concerts namely by Bartek Wąsik – pianist, composer, arranger, member of the Kwadrofonik music band who will present his upcoming album Daydreamer arranged for the piano and by Michał Pepol – cellist, arranger, and member of the Royal String Quartet who will present work from his latest album KORA

    The concert will be held on 28 June 2022 at 17:30 at Plac Marka (Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie / Poznań International Fair). Doors will open at 16:30.

  • Beach House – Baltimore-based US rock band, creating music that blends dream pop, indie rock and lo-fi. The band consists of Victoria Legrande – vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, and Alex Scally – guitarist and keyboardist. Beach House made its debut in 2006 when they released their first album entitled Beach House which was very well received by the audience and critics alike. The band has released eight studio albums to date. The latest, Once Twice Melody came out in February.

    Maria Peszek – vocalist, actress, songwriter, performer. During the ten years when she worked as an actress, she played under some of the most important theatre and film directors, creating many award-winning roles. Author of poignant and uncompromising texts touching upon issues of religion, Polish nature, and traditional social roles. Maria Peszek is one of the most outspoken artists in Poland.

    Bartek Wąsik – pianist, composer and arranger, winner of many national and international competitions, the Fryderyk and the Polityka Passport awards. He is a co-founder and member of the Lutosławski Piano Duo and the Kwadrofonik quartet. He has collaborated, among others, with Bartek Konopka, Jan Komasa, Artur Rojek, Adam Strug, Katarzyna Nosowska, Ralph Kaminski and Dorota Miśkiewicz and the Stary Theater in Lublin.

    Michał Pepol – a cellist, an arranger, a member of The Royal String Quartet. Michał Pepol is a co-founder and organizer of Kwartesencja Festival, a festival which is a platform for a repertoire which is not only classical, but is also a place for experiments and finding one's way. At the June concert to be held at the Malta Festival, the artist will present new material which manifests the ritual coexistence of two artists who never met. The compositions are a combination of the unreleased recordings of singer-songwriter Kora and the musical imagination of cellist Michał Pepol. The courageous artist takes us on a journey through the unknown oeuvre of Kora as he hears it. Pepol tells us about her with his sounds, and Kora comes to him.

  • Once Twice Melody is the band's latest double album and was released 18 February 2022. The album consists of 18 tracks and it was released in four instalments. The album is the band’s eighth and it has already received excellent reviews from critics.
