Izzy and the Black Trees is a combination of feisty Americana, grimy punk guitars and the singer’s charismatic voice. The band’s sound features a raw energy that is reminiscent of the Pixies, the Patti Smith Group, The Kills and Sonic Youth. Their debut album, Trust No One, caught the ear of independent music critics in Poland and abroad. The legendary Steve Lamacq featured the album’s title track on BBC 6 Music Recommends.
They played, among others at ENEA Spring Break 2019 and 2020 online, Westway LAB (PT), Fląder Festival, Tak Brzmi Miasto Showcase at Alchemia club, Re club and Berlin clubs Schokoladen and Dunckerclub. In 2019, they won the Gramy u Siebie series, organized by CK Zamek in Poznań, and were also finalists of the Jarocin Youth Rhythms 2019. In 2020, their performance at Liverpool Sound City and the accompanying mini-tour around the UK was canceled, but they were very warmly welcomed at Inne Brzmienia festival in Lublin.
